5 Cranky Stars

f you're looking for something absolutely different, this is it. This book takes you on a wild ride as Mike, Marvin, and Casper all head to Los Angeles on a road trip.

Mike starts out the journey headed to the funeral for an ex girlfriend while Marvin (convinced he is being punished for the execution of Joan of Arc he performed in a previous life) is looking for a woman he believes is the reincarnation of Joan of Arc to seek forgiveness. Casper is a young stowaway who is looking to follow his dreams. This book takes you through an emotional roller coaster ride as these three unlikable characters somehow become loved.

Just when I thought I could hate them, I started to feel for them and they became lovable in their own ways. The journey they take is physical and mental as they each deal with issues within themselves. The plot and setting aren't what's important in this book. The book is totally made whole by the characters themselves. The genre itself is even clouded because there's no one real genre to assign to it. I've never read anything like this book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book is well written and flows nicely. It was a wonderful change of pace as its unlike anything I've ever read before. It's new and fresh and definitely worth the read. There aren't any typos or grammar issues to speak of, and it seems very well thought out. There is a crazy combination of humor and heartache that will have you laughing and crying before you even realize what happened. Overall this is a great book!
