New Review! Mikhail (Brothers of Ash and Fire #2) by Lauren Smith

Mikhail (Brothers of Ash and Fire, #2)Mikhail by Lauren Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Cranky Stars

Piper is hoping to reinvent her life while she is in London sizing up a horde of jewels. She is a gemologist tasked with a monumental job to price and name jewels from the Elizabethan era hidden under a building. While she is at the public event she notices a man watching the jewels intently. You see Piper isn’t the prim and proper girl she portrays on the outside while yes, she is untouched by a man she has fantasies she hopes the dashing gentleman in the suit can fulfill. Once they meet it sparks a wild journey of fantasy, a heist, and love sweet love.

Mikhail has shut himself off from society. He was exiled by his father and hasn’t seen his brothers in years. His only goal is to retrieve the jewels that exiled him in the first place. He lives with his past memories and a restless dragon inside him. When these mysterious jewels pop up he sets off to claim what is rightfully his. Little did he know he was going home with a horde of jewels and a beautiful girl.

Mikhail has it all. Love and steamy sexy times. It also has drama in the form of an evil villain named Sinclair. Piper seems to take her new situation well because personally if I was roped into a heist I might just jump off that cliff. I liked that Mikhail while a dominating man was also gentle and didn’t push her to do crazy things. We also get a peek at Grigori and Madelyn. I can’t wait to see what Rurik has in store in the next book. I would definitely recommend these books to lovers of shifters.
