New Review! Show Me the Way by AL Jackson 4.5 Cranky Stars

Show Me the Way (Fight for Me, #1)Show Me the Way by A.L. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Cranky Stars

This is the story of boy meets girl. Girl meets boy and Sweet Pea Frankie Leigh. Sadly the boy is a jerk of epic proportions until he get's his head out his you know what but I digress it's a beautiful messy love story.

Rynna Dayne didn't have the easiest of childhoods. Considered not to be a typical beauty in high school along with an absent mother left Rynna searching for a place to belong. She had an amazing grandmother who made the most amazing pies and was loved by everyone in her town. Sadly her grandmas love isn't enough and she flees. Present day has her back in Gingham Lakes and staring into the most guarded sage green eyes ever and into the soul of a wild little girl with so much heart and soul.

Rex Gunner hasn't had much luck in the love department. The only love he can count on and protect is that of his daughter Frankie Leigh. He gives into her whimsy and thinks he doesn't need anything else in life. Having being left behind so many times he doesn't want to find love nor does he think he isn't worthy. Here in the present he runs a successful construction company and wants nothing to do with the stunning beauty who moved in across the street and is forcing her way into his life.

Once again AL Jackson has woven a story so simple yet complex. Full of such angst and longing but with so much heart. As the story unfolded you start to see the little clues as to how this story will play out and you don't receive the answer till it's over. Rynna is still a hurt girl dealing with life. Rex had a sad story but man you wanted to knock him on his butt. Janel.....well she angered me. I swear I wanted to lock her in a burning building. Harsh maybe but read this amazing story and you'll see why. With an amazing group of supporting characters who have shown up in another story you will fall in love with Rex and Rynna and Sweet Pea Frankie Leigh. Who I will say reminds me a lot of my own daughter. I hope there are many more stories to come!
