A Sky Full of Secrets by Briana Pacheco
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
**** 4 Cranky Stars ****
Sometimes our own worst demons live inside our head. They taint our relationships and the environment around us. Until we are a shell just living day to day. That is the case for Luna. She cuts and runs at a moments notice when feelings start getting involved.
Luna was hearing impaired. It wasn't always this way it happened when she got sick at the age of 6 and that's when her life and family changed. Forced to work harder to pay for her surgery her family starts to resent her. Her only ally is her brother Tanner and her best friend Mac. Mac and Luna start a relationship and while Mac loved her so Luna just wasn't there. They part ways yet still stay friends. After another failure after another she lives her life behind a self imposed wall. Haunted by the voices telling her she's damaged and not good enough. Getting kicked out of college she moves in with Mac and his roommate Phoenix.
Phoenix is an astrologer. The stars and the galaxies are his companions. He dreams of working for NASA one day. Phoenix was raised in a family of love and looks for someone to channel all the love he has into. He meets Luna and is instantly connected. I mean come on her name means moon it's fate right? Phoenix strikes a deal with her and soon feelings become involved. He hopes he can calm her demons and make her see that love isn't as bad as she thinks it is.
This book was a safe read. It dealt with some issues but had lots of love. It showed us that with the right person love can win at everything. It did have some minor spelling issues that seemed to just be looked over in the editing process. The book had good flow and i'm glad where the road took Phoenix and Luna.
